The CMU Account, an identification key for accessing the University IT services
The CMU Account for students and staff, with the username @cmu.ac.th and password, is an important key to accessing various Chiang Mai University IT services that support teaching and learning, as well as facilitate a better experience within the Chiang Mai campus.
New students can obtain your CMU Account by following:
1. The CMU Account step will be included in the new student registration process for undergraduate students.
2. If you are a master's or doctoral student and have successfully completed the new student registration process, the registration office will send you a link to activate your CMU Account on your own.
New employees can obtain your CMU Account by following:
1. The HR faculty/department will inform the new employee about the required CMU Account documentation needed to obtain an IT account registration card. After receiving the IT account registration card, the new employee can create their CMU Account by themselves via the online system.
2. The new employee can apply for the CMU Account by showing an ID card for identity verification at the One Stop Services, located on the 1st floor of the Office of Information Technology Service.
CMU Account Lifetime
1. Student Accounts (studentID@cmu.ac.th) :
Student accounts can be used until graduation is officially approved by the Registrar's Office.
Students in their final year are strongly advised to back up their data in advance. Once the Registrar's Office approves graduation and the student status is terminated, access to the CMU Account will no longer be available.
Therefore, all important data should be backed up before the student status officially ends.
2.Staff Accounts (name.surname@cmu.ac.th) :
Staff accounts can be used until the user's current employment status is terminated in the CMU HR database.
Examples of events that may result in the termination of current staff status include contract expiration, resignation, or a change of employment position.
Staff members are advised to plan ahead and prepare accordingly. Once their staff status ends, access to the CMU Account will no longer be available.
